2.6.24. Removal and installation of knot of supply of fuel

Removal
At removal of knot of supply of fuel the tank has to be filled no more than on 3/4. If necessary pump out fuel from the fuel tank.

Take away an accumulator cover 1 to the right and remove it, lifting 2 (fig. 2.256) up.
Disconnect a weight wire from joint stock bank at the switched-off ignition.
Limousine
Remove a luggage carrier upholstery.
Cast away if necessary the right back of a back seat forward.
Avant
Remove a back 1/3 at the left.
Remove a luggage carrier covering sideways at the left and a mud-reception bathtub.

Turn off a cover of a deaf flange (fig. 2.241).

Disconnect the plug from a deaf flange (fig. 2.261).

Mark the giving fuel-supply line 1 and the return fuel-supply line of 2 (fig. 2.262).

ATTENTION
The fuel system is under pressure. Before opening of system wrap up pure rags a junction. Then, slowly turning off a junction, pit pressure.

Disconnect both fuel-supply lines from a deaf flange, having pressed for this purpose the clamp button.
On cars with an autonomous heater besides disconnect a fuel-supply line of the dosing pump of an autonomous heater, having pressed for this purpose the clamp button.

ATTENTION
At removal of knot of supply of fuel the tank can be filled no more than on 3/4. Otherwise there will be a flood of a large amount of fuel.

Turn off a cap nut by means of a cap key (fig. 2.278).
Pull out knot of supply of fuel from an opening of the fuel tank a little and remove a sealing ring.

Pull a junction 2 up and disconnect the soaking-up pipeline of an autonomous heater, having pressed for this purpose the button of a clamp (fig. 2.279).
All models
Displace a deaf flange a little aside before taking out knot of supply of fuel from the fuel tank.

Through a gap between a deaf flange and an adjusting opening push a hand in the fuel tank and disconnect the ejector pump 1 (fig. 2.280).

NOTE
For descriptive reasons the fuel tank is shown in a partial section.

Pull the ejector pump 1 up, yet without disconnecting the working highway 2 (fig. 2.281).
Disconnect the working highway from the ejector pump, having pressed for this purpose the clamp button.
Take the ejector pump.
Take fuel supply knot.

NOTE
At extraction of knot of supply of fuel work accurately not to bend a float of the fuel level sensor.
Keep in mind that in fuel supply knot still there is a fuel.

Installation
Installation is carried out in the return sequence.
Establish knot of supply of fuel in the fuel tank.
Connect the working highway 2 to connection of the ejector pump 1 (fig. 2.281).
Latch the ejector pump 1 on fuel supply knot. For this purpose push a hand in a gap between a deaf flange and an adjusting opening of the fuel tank (fig. 2.280).
The sound of operation of a clamp of the ejector pump has to be heard.
Be convinced of reliable fixing of the ejector pump.
Cars with an autonomous heater after 02:03
Connect the soaking-up pipeline of an autonomous heater in the place of connection of 2 (fig. 2.279).
All models
Establish a new sealing ring in a dry form on a deaf flange.
Bring a deaf flange into Adjusting situation, having pressed it down (overcoming for this purpose spring resistance).

The tag on a deaf flange 2 has to coincide with a tag on the fuel tank of 1 (fig. 2.282).
Tighten a cap nut of a deaf flange (fig. 2.278).
Establish the giving fuel-supply line 1 and the return fuel-supply line 2 according to marks (fig. 2.262).
Connect the plug.
Connect the rechargeable battery. Perform the operations provided after connection of joint stock bank.

Inhaling moment
Cap nut of knot of supply of fuel: 80 N · m.

Check of the fuel level sensor
Limousine
Remove a luggage carrier upholstery.
Cast away if necessary the right back of a back seat forward.
Avant
Remove a back 1/3 at the left.
Remove a luggage carrier covering sideways at the left and a mud-reception bathtub.
All models
Turn off a cover of a deaf flange (fig. 2.241).

Disconnect the plug from a deaf flange (fig. 2.260).
Cars till 06:01
Connect a manual multimeter for measurement of resistance between contacts 2 and 3.


NOTE
Value of measurement of 0 Ohms means existence of short circuit; value Ґ Ohm – a rupture of a chain.

For check of resistance at the "full tank" or "empty tank" level it is necessary to remove fuel supply knot. and to translate its float against the stop up or down respectively.
At the removed fuel level sensor as a result of a bigger deviation of a float the following values turn out.


Cars from 06:01
Connect a manual multimeter for measurement of resistance between contacts 2 and 3.


NOTE
Value of measurement of 0 Ohms means existence of short circuit; value Ґ Ohm – a rupture of a chain.

For check of resistance at the "full tank" or "empty tank" level it is necessary to remove fuel supply knot. and to translate its float against the stop up or down respectively.
At the removed fuel level sensor as a result of a bigger deviation of a float the following values turn out:
Assembly is carried out in the return sequence.
