The car is completed with stepless transmission with electronic control (klinotsepny a variator of "Multitronic"). Unlike usual automatic transmission the transfer number changes not step gear shifting, and is continuous. It promotes, along with another, and provides to optimization of comfort of traction effort optimum fuel consumption.
The choice of the corresponding transfer relation of transmission (switching to the increased and lowered ranges of the movement) is carried out completely automatically, agrees to the programs of the movement which are stored in memory.
The transmission is completed also with the Tiptronic system. This system gives to the driver, at desire, a possibility of manual switching of ranges.
On the car with transmission of "Multitronic" communication of the engine with driving wheels, unlike usual automatic transmission, is carried out through multidisk coupling, but not via the torque converter. As a result the car is a little less subject to the spontaneous movement at short-term stops with idling the engine and the control lever established in situation "D", "S" or "R". It is necessary to remember it first of all on biases / rises.
