8.3.1. Removal and installation of the sensor of a rain

NOTE
At removal of the sensor of a rain there is a damage of a film. Therefore before installation it should be replaced.

Removal of the sensor of a rain
The rear-view mirror has to be removed.
Remove brackets 3 from a fixing plate of 1 leg of a mirror (fig. 8.83). Disconnect the rain sensor socket.
Take out the rain sensor from a mirror leg.
At the same time on a windshield remains pasted a film from the sensor.
If former glass is established, completely remove a film from glass.
Clear a surface by means of a cleaner of D 009 401 04.

If necessary remove the film remains from the sensor of a rain (fig. 8.84).

NOTE
If the former sensor of a rain is installed, then act as follows.

In addition clear a surface by means of a cleaner of D 009 401 04.

ATTENTION
On the surface of the sensor there should not be film remains.
|
Remove silicone paper from a film of the sensor (fig. 8.85). The transparent protective film at first remains on a sensor film as supportive application.
Arrange a sensor film by means of a transparent protective film on the sensor of a rain (fig. 8.86).
Press a film, as shown in the figure 8.87 in the direction of an arrow, to the sensor of a rain and smooth bubbles.
After that remove a transparent protective film from a film of the sensor (fig. 8.88). Spray a sensor film on all surface a cleaner of D 009 401 04 and insert the sensor into a mirror leg.

ATTENTION
For excellent job of the sensor of a rain on the surface of contact with a windshield there should not be foreign inclusions and bubbles.

Establish an assembly bracket of the sensor on a mirror leg.
