2.8.9. Removal and installation of the left and right covers of driving chains

Remove back facing of the engine.

NOTE After installation it is necessary again install all fasteners of cables removed or which are cut off at dismantle.

Remove forward facing of the engine.

Left cover of a driving chain

Turn off a broad tank of the cooling system.

Disconnect the shtekerny socket of the switch of a signaling device of low level of cooling liquid in the bottom of a broad tank and postpone a broad tank with the connected hoses 1 and 2 aside.

Take electric shtekerny sockets 1 and 2 of the holder (fig. 2.323).

Put a plait of wires aside.

Turn off nuts and disconnect from a forward wall the left holder of shtekerny sockets.

NOTE To enclose rags under the case of an oil filter to absorb the leaking engine oil.

Turn off a cover of the case of an oil filter (fig. 2.324).

Take a replaceable element of an oil filter.

Remove a hose of ventilation of a case of the engine from a cover of the left GBTs (fig. 2.325).

Uncover the left GBTs and put aside together with the connected hose of ventilation of a case of the engine.

Disconnect shtekerny sockets.

Unscrew bolts and disconnect shtekerny sockets on ignition coils.

Put a plait of electric wires aside.

Disconnect shtekerny sockets 1-3 (fig. 2.327).

Unscrew a nut.

Remove the holder of the shtekerny socket 3.

Unscrew the hairpin located under it.

Remove the holder of shtekerny sockets 1 and 2.

Unscrew bolts 1–8 and remove the left cover of a driving chain (fig. 2.328).

Disconnect the reducing valve 1 from an air hose (fig. 2.329).

Remove an air hose, for this purpose weaken a collar 2 and unblock clamps.

Take a pin of an expansion clip.

Remove the case of the air filter (fig. 2.330).

Turn off nuts and disconnect from a forward wall the right holder of shtekerny sockets 1 and 2 (fig. 2.331).

Disconnect shtekerny sockets.

Unscrew bolts and disconnect shtekerny sockets on ignition coils.

Put a plait of electric wires aside.

Disconnect the shtekerny socket 1.

Unscrew a bolt and remove an arm of the shtekerny socket (fig. 2.333).

Unscrew bolts 1–8 and remove the right cover of a driving chain (fig. 2.334).

Remove the sealant remains on covers of driving chains and the block of cylinders (a head of the block of cylinders), for example, with the rotating brush nozzle with a plastic bristle.

NOTE At the return installation establish all cable couplers where they were established initially. For fastening of all connections of hoses use collars of the corresponding series.

ATTENTION You watch that the remains of sealant did not get to the engine.

Clear landing surfaces; on them there should not be an oil and lubricant.

Cut off a tube nose on a forward mark (diameter an opening about 1 mm).

NOTE Covers of driving chains have to be established within 5 min. after putting sealant.

Apply the sealant roller on a pure landing surface of the left cover of a driving chain, as shown in the figure 2.335.

The flute of a landing surface has to be filled with sealant.

The roller of sealant has to act over a landing surface on 1,5–2,0 mm.

Establish the left cover of a driving chain and tighten bolts in the sequence of 1-8 (fig. 2.336).

Apply the sealant roller on a pure landing surface of the right cover of a driving chain, as shown in the figure 2.336.

The flute of a landing surface has to be filled with sealant.

The roller of sealant has to act over a landing surface on 1,5–2,0 mm.

Establish the right cover of a driving chain and tighten bolts in the sequence of 1-8 (fig. 2.334).

Further installation is carried out in the return sequence.

Check oil level.
