2.8.10. Removal and installation of the lower cover of a driving chain

Remove the check point.

Cars from the manual transmission
Remove press a clutch plate and a two-mass flywheel.

Cars with the automatic transmission
Remove the conducted clutch plate.

NOTE
After removal of the check point the engine leans on reception adaptation and the limiter of an emphasis against a provorachivaniye is weakened.

ATTENTION
For further work follows be convinced that the frame of a radiator is established.

Remove the reception adaptation (fig. 2.337) installed for dismantle of the check point from the engine.
Tighten the emphasis limiter against a provorachivaniye with effort of 28 N · m.
Uncover left and right a driving chain.

NOTE
To enclose rags under the case of an oil filter to absorb the leaking engine oil.

Disconnect the shtekerny socket of the sensor of pressure of oil (fig. 2.338).
Unscrew the oil pressure sensor.
Merge engine oil by means of the device for pumping of oil from the case of an oil filter.
Unscrew bolts.

Remove the case of an oil filter (fig. 2.339).
Put the device for pumping of oil under the engine.
Merge engine oil.
Unscrew bolts.

Unscrew bolts 1–8 and remove the lower cover of a driving chain (fig. 2.340).
Take a back epiploon of the crankshaft from the lower cover of a driving chain.

Installation
Take the right top adjusting plug from the block of cylinders.

NOTE
Replace laying, epiploons and sealing rings of round section.

Process the adjusting plug a file, as shown in the figure 2.341.
Size x = 6,5 mm.
The size at = 8 mm.
Install the plug on the block of cylinders so that the ground party was directed up.

NOTE
Turning facilitates installation of the lower cover of a driving chain at the established head of the block of cylinders.

Remove the sealant remains on a cover of a driving chain and the block of cylinders (a head of the block of cylinders), for example, with the rotating brush nozzle with a plastic bristle.

ATTENTION
You watch that the remains of sealant did not get to the engine.

Clear landing surfaces; on them there should not be an oil and lubricant.
Clear openings of laying of GBTs of old sealant.

NOTE
At the established GBTs openings in laying are visible only half.

ATTENTION
Laying of GBTs cannot be bent. The bent laying of GBTs follows replace.

Slightly unbend the ends of laying of GBTs down to that time, there will be yet no opportunity to clear also top landing surface of laying and GBTs.
Clear the top and lower laying of GBTs, on them there should not be an oil and lubricant.
Cut off a tube nose on a forward mark (diameter an opening about 2 mm).

NOTE
Sealant needs to be applied on several sites of the engine as it is described further.
Time of hardening of sealant makes only about 5 min. after drawing.

ATTENTION
Laying of GBTs cannot be bent.
The bent laying of GBTs should be replaced.

Apply on the landing surfaces of the top and lower laying of GBTs a thin layer of sealant, for this purpose again slightly unbend laying down.
For putting sealant on a surface between GBTs and laying use a flat subject: for example, probe.
Fill the cleared openings of laying of GBTs with sealant.

Apply sealant 1-6 rollers on pure landing surfaces of the lower cover of a driving chain, as shown in the figure 2.342.
The flute of a landing surface has to be filled with sealant.
Rollers of sealant have to act over a landing surface on 1,5–2,0 mm.
Roller of sealant of poses. 3 it is necessary to put, as shown in the drawing even if the flute is already filled.
Establish a sealing ring of round section in a flute of the lower cover of a driving chain.
Record a sealing ring of round section a small amount of sealant.
Establish the lower cover of a driving chain, at the same time bring a cover to the landing surface of the block of cylinders and GBTs from below on an inclined plane (fig. 2.340).
At installation you watch to damaging laying of GBTs. The damaged laying should be replaced.

Order of twisting of bolts
1. Process bolts a carving varnish and tighten with effort 5 N · m.
2. Tighten bolts 1–8 cross-wise with the moment of 10 N · m.
3. Tighten bolts with the moment of 10 N · m.
4. Tighten bolts 6, 7 and 8 with the moment of 22 N · m.

Cars with 05.2005
Apply sealant 1-5 rollers on pure landing surfaces of the lower cover of a driving chain, as shown in the figure 2.342.
The flute of a landing surface has to be filled with sealant.
Rollers of sealant have to act over a landing surface on 1,5–2,0 mm.
Roller of sealant of poses. 2 it is necessary to put, as shown in the drawing even if the flute is already filled.
Establish epiploons in flutes of the lower cover of a driving chain.
Establish the lower cover of a driving chain, at the same time bring a cover to the landing surface of the block of cylinders and GBTs from below on an inclined plane (fig. 2.340).
At installation you watch to damaging laying of GBTs. The damaged laying should be replaced.

Order of twisting of bolts
1. Process bolts a carving varnish and tighten with effort 5 N · m.
2. Tighten bolts 1–9 cross-wise with the moment of 10 N · m.
3. Tighten bolts with the moment of 10 N · m.
4. Tighten bolts 7, 8 and 9 with the moment of 22 N · m.
5. Tighten a hairpin 3 with the moment of 16 N · m.

All cars
Further installation is carried out in the return sequence.
Install the case of an oil filter.
Establish the left and right covers of a driving chain.
Establish a crankshaft epiploon from a driving chain.

Cars from the manual transmission
Establish press a clutch plate and a two-mass flywheel.

Cars with the automatic transmission
Establish the conducted clutch plate.
Establish the check point.
Fill in engine oil and check its level.

Inhaling moments
The lower cover of a driving chain to the M6 engine * – 9 N · m, M7 – 16 N · m, M8 – 20 N · m.
The left and right covers of a driving chain to the engine * – 5 N · m +90 ° ***.
Arm of shtekerny sockets to a head of the block of cylinders – 9 N · m.
* Process threaded connections between GBTs and the lower cover of a driving chain a carving varnish.
** Replace bolts.
*** 90 ° there correspond quarters of a turn.
