Insert the valve into the directing plug. Because of various diameter of a core use the inlet valve only in the directing plug of the inlet valve and the final valve in the directing plug of the final valve (fig. 2.177).
The end of a core of the valve has to be blocked by the directing plug.
Define a side play when rocking the valve.
Limit admission: 0,8 mm.

NOTE
If the valve at repair is replaced, then at measurements it is necessary to use the new valve.
If admissible value is exceeded, repeat measurement with new valves. If with new valves the limit admission is also exceeded, it is necessary to replace a head of the block of cylinders.

Check of valves
Examine cores and saddles of valves regarding grinding in traces.
If distinct traces of grinding in are noticeable, replace the valve.
