2.10.17. Replacement of oil scraper caps

Operating procedure
On Audi A4 with 4-tsit. 2,0 l 4V are established by the TDI engine with the black filter only ceramic glow plugs of NGK.

NOTE
On ceramic glow plugs of NGK as the color coding "there is a white, perhaps painted by silvery paint, sealing ring".

ATTENTION
It is necessary to observe without fail instructions on operation for ceramic candles of an incandescence.

All cars
Remove camshafts.
Remove the pump nozzle.

The head of the block of cylinders is removed

Remove glow plugs by means of a face nozzle (fig. 2.527).
Lay GBTs on a workbench, having enclosed under it soft rags.

Establish the directing plate on GBTs (fig. 2.528).
Fix the directing plate by means of bolts with a nakatka.
Insert a mandrel into an adjusting plate and beat out the got stuck checks of valves the plastic hammer.

The head of the block of cylinders is established
Bring the piston of the corresponding cylinder into "the lower dead point".
Establish the directing plate on GBTs.
Fix the directing plate by means of bolts with a nakatka.
Insert a mandrel into an adjusting plate and beat out the got stuck checks of valves the plastic hammer.
Twist the adapter, without tightening, in the directing plate.

Continuation for the established / dismantled GBTs
Fix adaptation with a suspended fork on GBTs.

Get a compensation ring on an adjusting cartridge (fig. 2.529).
Insert an adjusting cartridge into the directing plate.
At the removed GBTs connect the adapter through a standard adapter to a source of compressed air and give constant pressure.
Minimum pressure: 6 bars of excessive pressure.
Suspend a fork on adaptation and press an adjusting cartridge down.
At the same time turn a bolt with a nakatka of the adjusting boss to the right until the ends are included into checks of the valve.
Slightly turn a bolt with a nakatka forward and back, at the expense of it crackers of the valve are unclenched and the boss is captured.
Release a press fork.
Remove an adjusting cartridge with an expansion ring with a nakatka.
Take a plate springs of the valve and a spring.

Remove oil scraper caps by means of a stripper (fig. 2.530).

NOTE
The plastic plug A is included in the package of new oil scraper caps.


Install the plastic plug A on a valve core in order to avoid damages of new oil scraper caps To (fig. 1.112).

Slightly grease a working edge of an oil scraper cap.
Get an oil scraper cap on the plastic plug.
Accurately press a cap by means of adaptation on the directing valve plug.
Again remove the plastic plug.

After extraction the check of the valve from the Adjusting boss it is necessary at first them insert into adjusting adaptation (fig. 2.113).

NOTE
Bigger diameter specifies checks of the valve up.

Insert a spring and a plate of a valve spring.
Press an adjusting cartridge from above to the device for installation of valves and take checks of the valve.
Establish an adjusting cartridge in the directing plate.
Press a press fork down and pull a bolt with a nakatka up – thus checks of valves (fig. 2.529) are inserted.
Unload a press fork at even the extended bolt with a knurled head.
Assembly is carried out in the return sequence.
Install the pump nozzle.
Establish cam-shafts.
Establish glow plugs.

NOTE
After installation of camshafts the engine it have to is impossible to start Gidrokompensatora within about 30 min. to be besieged (otherwise valves will be adjoin to pistons).
After works on the valvate mechanism scroll the engine by hand not less than two turns that be convinced that any valve does not adjoin to the piston.
