4.3.7. Removal and installation of the case of the stupichny bearing

Removal
Remove a decorative overlay of a wheel, on light-alloy wheels take off a cap (a removable hook from the onboard tool).
Unscrew a driveshaft bolt (in order to avoid naschastny a case you carry out work only on the car standing on wheels).
Remove a wire of the sensor of frequency of rotation of the ABS system from fastening on a rotary fist.

Unscrew the screw with a hexagon 2 and remove fastening of the brake highway (fig. 4.49).
Unscrew bolts of 1 brake support and remove a support.
Again establish fastening of the brake highway. Insert and tighten the screw with a hexagon 2.
Fix a brake support on a design so that it the weight did not bend / did not damage the brake highway.

Continuation of assembly operations for all cars
Remove a brake support and to strengthen it on a body so that it the weight did not press on a brake hose / the brake highway and did not damage him / her.

Unscrew the screw 5 of the ABS RPM meter (fig. 4.55).
Disconnect the ABS cable from a rotary fist.
Remove a brake disk.

Turn off bolts and remove the screen (fig. 4.69).

Unscrew the combined screw 3 and the screw 4 (fig. 4.70).

NOTE
After repair carry out measurements on the car.

Between the pendular lever of steering 1 and a sealing washer 2 tips the helmsman of draft is forbidden to insert a chisel or similar tools for expression of steering draft since it can do will lead to damage of a sealing washer (fig. 4.71).
To squeeze out / beat out the wooden or rubber hammer steering draft from the pendular lever allows only through the cylindrical end of a tip of steering draft.
Pull out / squeeze out steering draft in a downward direction.
Unscrew a nut of a finger of the hinge of the taxiing-up lever so that it was aflush with a hinge finger carving. If necessary to hold a hinge finger by means of a face six-sided key of SW 4.
Vypressuyte a finger of the hinge of the directing lever by means of a stripper of the spherical hinge from a conic nest.

NOTE
At the same time do not damage a hinge boot.
You watch that both shoulders of the lever of a stripper at the time of the maximum application of force settled down in parallel to each other.
On cars with the proofreader of a tilt angle of headlights remove connecting draft of the sensor of level of the car from the bearing lever.

Unscrew a nut of a finger of the hinge of the bearing lever so that it was aflush with a hinge finger carving. If necessary hold a hinge finger by means of a face six-sided key of SW 4.

Vypressuyte a finger of the hinge of the bearing lever by means of a stripper of the spherical hinge from a conic nest (fig. 4.72).

NOTE
You watch that both shoulders of the lever of a stripper at the time of the maximum application of force settled down in parallel to each other.

Turn off a nut 1, take a six-sided bolt and extend both levers 2 (fig. 4.70) up.
Flaring of shlits in the hug bearing case by means of a chisel, etc. is not allowed.
Turn the hug bearing case in the direction of an arrow aside, at the same time extending a thorn of a power shaft from a wheel nave.
Fix a power shaft on a design, for example, by a wire.
Turn off a nut from a finger of the hinge of the bearing lever.
Remove the hug bearing case.

Installation
Insert the hug bearing case.
Insert the external hinge of a power shaft into a nave and strong tighten a new six-sided bolt.
Implant fingers of hinges of the bearing and directing lever into the hug bearing case.
Wind and tighten the new self-stopped nuts a hinge finger if necessary hold a key (an internal hexagon) of SW of 4 mm.

Establish both fingers of the hinge of the top levers in a rotary fist and by means of the special tool attract as much as possible down (fig. 4.56).
Install the new screw 1 and the self-stopped nut and tighten (fig. 4.70).

NOTE
Steering draft (tip of steering draft) install in the pendular lever 1 only by hand (fig. 4.71). Not to load a sealing washer 2.

Insert steering draft.
Wind and tighten the new self-stopped nut of 4 (fig. 4.70).
Tighten the screw with a six-sided head 3
Install the speed sensor for the ABS system.
On cars with the proofreader of a tilt angle of headlights install connecting draft of the sensor of level of the car on the bearing lever.
Fasten and tighten a guard (fig. 4.69).
Establish a brake disk and wind a brake support.
Establish and tighten a wheel
Tighten the screw with a six-sided head of a power shaft (only on the car standing on wheels – danger of accident).
Adjust the angles of installation of wheels.
Check and adjustment (if necessary) of a forward suspension bracket are carried out at the stand for RUUK recommended to VW/Audi.
