3.3.8. Removal and installation of the handle of the automatic transmission selector

NOTE
Grease basic sites and the surfaces of sliding with polycarbamide lubricant.

Removal
Transfer the automatic transmission selector to situation "D".

Turn the plug 1 to the left and push it down to an emphasis (fig. 3.103).

Carefully put forward the button 2 of the handle of the automatic transmission 3 selector exactly so that it was possible to insert a cable collar between the button and the handle (fig. 3.103).

NOTE
Do not pull out the button further at all, it can lead to damage of the handle of the selector.

Fix the button in the extended situation a cable collar, as shown in the drawing.
Remove the automatic transmission selector handle in the direction up.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the return sequence.
Transfer the automatic transmission selector to situation "D".

NOTE
For removal of the handle of the automatic transmission 3 selector the button 2 has to be put forward against the stop and has to be fixed by a cable collar or the replacement tool from a set of delivery of the new handle (fig. 3.103).
If the button through an oversight was not fixed, then it cannot be extended from the automatic transmission selector handle by means of mechanical tools. Push out the button compressed air, using for this purpose the blowing-off gun.

Completely put on the handle 3 the automatic transmission selector – the button 2 is turned to the driver. The handle has to enter a ring groove of the selector at the same time.
Remove a cable collar or other replacement tool, at the same time the drive of the button comes into a vertical groove of the automatic transmission selector. If necessary press the button into the automatic transmission selector handle.
Extend the plug 1 up and fix it turn to the right.
