1.3.3. Information system of the driver (FIS)

The information system of the driver (FIS) is information center of the car.

Indication of an information system of the driver is brought to the display (fig. 1.41) located in the center of a combination of devices.

This system informs the owner on urgent technical condition of the car.

On some modifications of the car the image of information on the display of a combination of devices is multi-color and has the increased resolution.

NOTE On cars with automatic transmission information is output to the display only after inclusion of the mode of the movement.

In the absence of information on malfunction of the second degree and the turned-on radio (depending on a complete set of radio) after indication "OK" goes out, on the display the name of the chosen radio station or a radio frequency with additional information appears.

Indication of external temperature is brought to the display at the included ignition. On cars with automatic transmission indication appears only after inclusion of range of the movement. At a temperature from +5 °C to -5 °C to the left of indication of temperature the symbol is highlighted. Emergence of a symbol in the form of a snowflake warns the driver about need of extra care in view of danger of ice. On the motionless car or at the movement with very small speed indication can be slightly higher than the actual temperature owing to heat radiated by the engine.

On cars with the conditioner when switching the display to indications by the Fahrenheit scale (°F) respectively indication of external temperature automatically changes.

ATTENTION Never take as a basis indication of external temperature when determining probability of ice on the road. Remember that at an external temperature of +5 °C formation of ice is also possible.

NOTE At a conclusion to the display of data of system of navigation (maintenance to the purpose) indication of external temperature appears in the second line of the display panel of radio.

Indication of a stock of the course on fuel in kilometers is brought to the display.

This indication shows how many kilometers the car still can pass on the actual rest of fuel in this mode of the movement. The course stock is determined by fuel by the discrete values counted by steps on 10 km.

Calculations of a stock of the course fuel consumption on the last 30 km of a way is assumed as a basis. At more economic subsequent movement the stock of the course increases.

The pictogram is output to the display if at the included ignition at least one door, a cowl or a luggage carrier are not closed. The pictogram specifies also what door or doors are not closed. In the figure 1.45 as an example the door of the driver and a back right door are shown.

The cowl or luggage carrier represented on the pictogram of the display blink if they are not closed. Right after full closing of all doors, a cowl and a luggage carrier this pictogram dies away.

Indication of the pictogram warning about an open door and a luggage carrier, cars with an information system of the driver and the on-board computer it is possible to disconnect short-term pressing of command keys the on-board computer. However the pictogram will appear again after change of provision of doors, a cowl or a luggage carrier at once.
