2.2.8. Replacement of the fuel filter (TDI engines)

NOTE

Do not allow hit of diesel fuel on cooling system hoses. In case of hit immediately clear hoses.

4-tsit. diesel TDI engines about the pump nozzles

Remove a protective cover of the engine.

The fuel filter can be installed on a forward partition of a body.

Remove a bracket of fastening 3 and the regulator with the connected fuel-supply lines.

Remove fuel hoses from fuel unions 1 and 2 (fig. 2.40).

Tightening 4 arms weaken a collar and take out the filter from an arm.

Fill the new filter with pure diesel fuel. It will allow to start the engine quicker.

At installation of the regulator pay attention to the provision of ring consolidation in the filter case.

Install the regulator with the connected fuel-supply lines.

Establish a bracket of fastening 3.

Insert fuel hoses into the corresponding unions 1 and 2 and fix by collars.

Start the engine and carry out a visual inspection of tightness of fuel system.

6-tsit. diesel engines 2.5 TDI

Remove a bracket of fastening 5.

Remove the regulator 6 with the connected fuel-supply lines.

Remove fuel hoses from fuel unions 3 and 4 (fig. 2.41).

Tightening weaken a collar of 1 arm and take out the filter from an arm.

Fill the new filter with pure diesel fuel. It will allow start the engine quicker.

Tighten tightening a collar 1.

At installation of the regulator pay attention to the provision of ring consolidation in the filter case.

Install the regulator with the connected fuel-supply lines.

Establish a bracket of fastening 5.

Insert fuel hoses into the corresponding unions 3 and 4 and fix by collars.

Start the engine and carry out a visual inspection of tightness of fuel system.

6-tsit. diesel engines 2.7/3.0 TDI

Remove a bracket of fastening 1 and a bolt 2.

Remove a cable collar 4.

3 unscrew a nut and take out a bracket of fastening (fig. 2.42).

Replace the fuel filter.

Tighten a bracket of fastening and a bolt 3. Inhaling moment: 10 N · m.

Establish a fuel hose with a bolt 2 and new ring consolidations. Inhaling moment: 23 N · m.

Establish a cable collar 4.

To put on a hose of supply of fuel the union and fix by a bracket of fastening 1.

Start the engine and carry out a visual inspection of tightness of fuel system.
