3.2.7. Adjustment of the drive of gear shifting

Remove a knob together with a cover.

Cars with big deepening under the radio tape recorder
Remove air conditioning system control unit.

Cars with small deepening under the radio tape recorder

Previously having lifted the panel 1 in the direction of an arrow A, remove it in the direction of an arrow B of fig. 3.55).

All cars
Turn off bolts (arrows C) and remove an ashtray 2 from the central console (fig. 3.55).
Disconnect the shtekerny socket of illumination of an ashtray.
Take out foam checks from the central console.
Remove the noise-insulating screen in the direction up.

Unscrew the noise-insulating screen of the case of the mechanism of gear shifting (fig. 3.56).
Measure distance And between both carving fingers of the drive of gear shifting.
Preset value: mm A=85 distance

NOTE
Measure distance between the middle of carving fingers.

At discrepancy of result of measurement to a preset value And, weaken a bolt of a cable of the choice of transfers (fig. 3.66).

The bearing of the lever of gear shifting has to move freely in the hinge.
Having moved the lever bearing, modify distance And (fig. 3.66).
Tighten a bolt of a cable of the choice of transfers the moment of 23 N · m.

Weaken a bolt of a cable of inclusion of transfers (fig. 3.67).
Connection of a cable of inclusion gear shifting transfers / drive has to move freely.
Level the gear shifting lever.
Establish the lower part of the lever of gear shifting in the center of the bearing of the lever.

The distance between the bearing and the lower part of the lever of gear shifting has to be identical in all places (fig. 3.68).

Level the gear shifting lever so that it was turned in the direction of the movement with an insignificant deviation to the right (2 °) (fig. 3.69).
Hold the lever in this situation.
Tighten a bolt of a cable of inclusion of transfers the moment of 23 N · m.

NOTE
It is impossible to change position of the lever of gear shifting when tightening a bolt.

Check of adjustment of the lever of gear shifting
Start the engine.
Press a coupling pedal.
Several times switch all transfers.
Press the backing lock (press down on the gear shifting lever) and move the lever against the stop to the left to the canal of the reverse gear.
Turn on the reverse gear, having moved the lever forward.

NOTE
It is impossible to reject at the same time the lever to the left or to the right.
Make sure that transfer of a backing, but not the first transfer is included.
At inclusion of the first transfer instead of back the lever will be strongly rejected to the left.

Take out the reverse gear.
Having moved the lever to the left, include the 2nd transfer.
If at inclusion of the 2nd transfer the lever gets jammed, then it means that it is strongly rejected to the right.

NOTE
Installation of the reverse gear is possible only when pressing the lock of a backing.

The lever has to move spontaneously from the channel of the reverse gear back to the canal of the 3 / 4 transfer.
If at repeated inclusion of transfer the lever continues to get jammed, then it is necessary to adjust gear shifting in addition.
Install panels and a knob with a cover.
