2.5.2. Check of the thermostat of the cooling system operated on an algorithm

Remove the thermostat of the cooling system operated on an algorithm.

Check the thermostat in a cold state. The big plate of the valve has to adjoin densely on all circle to a connecting flange (fig. 2.212).

If it not so, replace the cooling system thermostat.

Connect contacts of the thermostat auxiliary wires from a set of supportive measuring applications to joint stock bank. Holding pincers, lower it to a flange vertically in a pan with the boiling cooling liquid (mixing proportions: 50% of G12+) (fig. 2.213).

ATTENTION Do not touch metal parts of the thermostat as they heat up.

The resistive heater in addition heats wax in the thermostat.

Check whether the minimum course in 7 mm is reached 10 min. later.

If the minimum course in 7 mm is not reached, disconnect giving of tension from joint stock bank.

NOTE This check cannot be made on air. In this case damage of the strain gage is not excluded.
